Washing and recycling equipment for armored vehicle washing area

Defense infrastructure establishments wish to have high-performance washing facilities suitable for cleaning the various military vehicles, including VBCIs and VBMRs.
As the VBCI/VBMR washing operations consume a lot of water, a washing water recycling system had to be put in place in order to limit the impact on the environment and limit the cost of the water bill.

Primary objective :

  • Have a functional and efficient washing area .
  • Achieve financial savings by recycling vehicle wash water while preserving natural resources .

Secondary objectives :

  • Benefit from reliable equipment and a partner capable of maintaining it over time.
  • Meet the regulatory requirements imposed by the competent authorities.

The installed washing station has 3 covered washing bays. Bays 1 and 2 are mainly dedicated to cleaning / scraping of VBCI/VBMR and PL. Bay 3 is mainly used for finer washes (VL).

  • The 3 bays can operate at high pressure at the same time with 2 active washing points per bay without loss of power
  • When the underbody washing ramp is operating, the other equipment in bay 1 is inhibited
  • Low pressure washing only works on one lance per span at full flow, the use of a second lance on the same span divides the flow by 2.

The treatment chain is broken down into 2 parts:

  • Pre-treatment (buried): decantation, physical de-oiling, oxygenation and lifting
  • Secondary treatment (aerial): filtration, oil removal, storage and disinfection

Water flow is by gravity throughout the part of the buried treatment and from the washing tracks to the recycling channel. Then, pumps supply the various treatment and storage units.

In the event of a lack of recycled water, rainwater automatically supplements the lifting tank, in the event of a break in rainwater, city water supplements the overhead storage tank.
