Our projects – Transport sector

Our projects - transport sector

  • Design, production and installation of fixed washing tunnels, 4 or 5 brushes, in the procession for buses and coaches.
  • Design, production and installation of mobile washing gantries for buses, coaches, trucks, tanks (food powder, industrial, etc.).
  • All our equipment allows the washing, disinfection, decontamination of your vehicles, exterior, interior, manually and/or automatically.
  • Design, production and installation of washing machines for metros, trams, moving trains, up to 5km/h.
  • Use of the latest automation and IT developments with predictive maintenance, visualization of remote supervision, and communication with remote operators, by SMS, emails, etc.
  • Design, production and installation of a fixed or mobile chassis washer for all types of vehicles.
  • Design, sizing and installation of treatment and recycling channels for more than 80% of water from washing. Our sectors are constantly developing to achieve the zero discharge objective.
  • Personalized and adapted answers to all your washing requests for all types of vehicles (small to large utility vehicles, minibuses, mini-excavators, etc.).

water treatment

Water treatment

Our water treatment system makes it possible to recycle around 80-85% of the washing water. To achieve such a result, our research and development team worked to break down the sector into 3 parts:
  • Pre-treatment (underground): Installation of a sludge tank using the principle of settling. This principle consists in separating the solid phase from the liquid phase by density difference and installation of a hydrocarbon separator.
  • Secondary treatment (underground): Installation of a 20m3 lifting tank with an aerobic biological reactor. The biological reactor contains micro-organisms which, thanks to the injection of oxygen, thus consume the dissolved pollution and develop. A recirculation pump, installed in the lifting tank, recovers this sludge. Then, it evacuates them into the sludge tank.
  • Tertiary treatment (aerial): Filtration skid which improves the filtration quality of the recycled water. Once the water is filtered, it is discharged into a treated water storage buffer tank.
In addition, we have sized the treatment chain according to the number of buses or coaches to be washed per day.

Rotating head chassis washer

Rotating head chassis washer

Montanier has innovated with the rotating head chassis washer, made up of 3 washing heads. They cover an area of approximately 2.20 mx 2.00 m in the shape of a triangle. This system offers the advantage of being versatile, especially for washing on parade. Its embedding in the ground is also shallow. This allows it to be better integrated into the existing site and to evacuate the waste water (according to the water line of the manhole in the gutter). We supply the frame to be sealed in hot-dip galvanized steel to the paver installer so that it can be integrated into the masonry. In order to obtain better guidance, we install a pair of guide wheel guides and thus limit the risk of pinching the tyres. In order to guarantee an excellent washing result, we equip the heads with high pressure nozzles. This equipment allows vigorous washing, covering a large surface. It also avoids any "pencil" effect affecting the washing quality. These nozzles are also the guarantee of not damaging hoses and other fragile equipment under the chassis. The washing ramp is fed by a reinforced HP hose. This hose passes through the ground, in a sheath reaching the technical room. Our teams connect it to the high pressure unit with the necessary sets of valves. A specific grating in hot-dip galvanized steel is made on angles between the heads.

Bus chassis washer

Chassis washer

Our R&D teams have developed a chassis washer. In order to improve the quality of vehicle washing, without slowing down the washing rate, we recommend setting up a chassis + underbody + wheel washing system operating in the parade. Cold water under-chassis washing station 300 L/min at 20 bars, comprising 3 fixed ramps equipped with flat jet nozzles. We complete this system with a horizontal ramp for under-frame washing. We have also provided it with 2 vertical ramps for washing the underbody, wheels and sides of vehicles. This system makes it possible to wash the lower parts of the vehicle (often soiled by earth and other particles) before the brush tunnel or gantry, thus avoiding scratches on the bodywork and offering excellent quality washing.

washing tunnel

Bus washing tunnel

The bus washing tunnel is a fixed piece of equipment designed for in-process washing. Our teams hot-dip galvanize the entire structure. This system allows its installation both indoors and outdoors. We guarantee longevity and reliability thanks to many mechanical components made of stainless steel. Four side brushes and a roof brush make up this washing tunnel. Our R&D team has thought about making maintenance easier. It has thus equipped the tunnel with high-density brushes with extruded and grained HDPE wire, shell with simplified single-point closure. We can thus ensure that the approximate lifespan of this equipment is 50,000 washes. The rotation of the brushes and the inclination of the ramps relative to the direction of passage cause the opening and closing of the brushes when they come into contact with the walls of the vehicle. At the entrance to the tunnel, we install a roof brush integrated in an additional box. The rotation of the brush on the bodywork as the bus passes causes it to rise and press constantly on the entire roof of the vehicle. Three PVC arches, equipped with removable flat jet nozzles, ensure the distribution of water. Our teams then complete these arches with 2 vertical ramps and 1 horizontal ramp, fixed to the structure.

Bus washing gantry

Washing gantry

The Stop & Go washing gantry is a mobile equipment designed for washing buses. This gate is a Montanier innovation. Our teams fully hot-dip galvanize its structure. This system allows its installation both indoors and outdoors. Because it is completely streamlined, we thus protect the organs from bad weather. We equip the car wash with two side brushes and a roof brush. To ensure this whole system, we install the two side brushes suspended from motorized trolleys. They move on a ramp. They provide front and rear washing by double sweeping, as well as side washing. The horizontal roof brush is mounted on a vertical slide, and the raising-lowering is carried out via a geared motor and a chain link. We have developed a device of geared motors, controlled by intensity sensors, which control the opening and closing of the brushes. Thanks to this ingenious system, the support is therefore permanently adjusted, depending on the effort that the brushes encounter. The rotation takes place in the direction of passage of the vehicle (which in particular preserves the roof equipment). Our washing gantry ensures the distribution of water thanks to two PVC arches. We equip these arches with flat jet sprinklers.
