Military aircraft washing area

The Air Force asked MONTANIER to develop specific equipment to wash military aircraft in maintenance centers. An important specificity was not to have fixed equipment on the tarmac, nor a gallows or other visible washing nozzle, or on the passage of planes on the ground. Montanier worked on installing retractable, high-pressure bollards. The washing area is equipped with:

• 4 buried terminals with 8 independent HP washing circuits,
• Each buried terminal with watertight hatch placed on the aircraft wash runway is powered by 2 circuits.
• Each of the 4 terminals includes 2 HP washing points for 2 simultaneous users.
• All of the terminals allow the supply of a choice of 4 washers simultaneously.
• The 4 buried terminals each include in their manhole two HP outlets with stainless steel valve and quick coupling for connecting 2 HP washing hoses.
• Each user can choose to use a high pressure (HP) washing lance or a low pressure (LP) washing lance with brush.
• Telescopic HP washing lances with quick couplings and HP washing nozzles. Length adjustable from: 1.80 to 3.30m
• 4 telescopic BP brush lances with quick couplings and centrally fed nylon brushes. Length adjustable from: 1.80 to 3.30m
• Each HP washing point provides constant pressure, with a high flow of hot water, at 65°C per washer.
• The entire installation is controlled by means of 4 radio control boxes each dedicated to a terminal. Management by programmable automaton and sending of information to the GTC.

The military equipment washing station is completed by the MONTANIER water treatment system in order to be able to discharge water into the natural environment in accordance with regulatory standards.

This military vehicle washing area provides operators with optimal ergonomics of use, with easy movement of the washing reel, and easy connection of high pressure hoses.
